Back to School or can you count

It is September again and back to school time. I don’t like leaving my work for the last minute and all school supplies are already bought, but this year my kids requested pencil cases, ‘special’ pencil cases.

So there you go!  I sat to work this weekend, planning to work on two bags knowing they will not change my schedule.

The challenge was to make a girl and a boy type of bags so everyone can be happy.

The First one

was for my son. He grabbed it even before I was able to put some final touches claiming I am the best mother in the world!  A smile came to my face (after all this is the reason we are doing everything for them).

The second one

was stitched in no time meeting all requirements of my little princess!

„ Mom, I want it pink right? …but not all of it just part cause I already have a complete pink one …. Oh and I want a hearth … or few hearths! … and … and don’t forget to put some beads ….”

The happy voice cacophony swirled in the house and somehow I was already cutting out the next bag.

A matching key holders. And since I can’t do only for my daughter I had to make one for my son too.

These two creations were met with lots of excitement and endless promises to help me with home chores. Sometimes I wish they can keep those promises!

Attracted by the loud happy voices coming from my workshop my husband squeezed into the room. He was wondering why we are trying to take the house down.

Before I can even get the chance to explain what was happening, my little running balls get me into trouble …

„Look daddy … mine is beautiful isn’t it … no mine is better … and the keys holder …. Look I have hearths … you know mommy can make one for you too …“

ОK!

come out of the machine and the comment was just: „Exactly what I needed“, which should be at least 15 minutes praising as per women standards! Not that he will need it for school, but …

Who is counting anymore!

The day was almost coming to an end, everyone was happy with their special bags, but when I got up from the chair three pairs of eyes looked at me asking at the same time:
“What about you?”

I think six is enough and it’s time to turn off the iron for the day!

What do you think?
